After input of the data press the "Return" key (Enter). A connection to the ftp server is established and a new window appears within the ftp program.
Click on the symbol "Lokale Dateiansicht 1" (see picture). Thus you open a kind file explorer within the ftp client. This step is accomplished only once. If you start SmartFTP in the future, the file explorer is already opened.
Next click on the symbol "Nebeneinander" (see picture) in order to increase the overview within SmartFTP.
You will see now two windows, which are arranged need next to each other you need for the further work with SmartFTP.
In the right window with the title ftp.YOUR_domainname.xxx you click in the left column on "web", so that this is marked (see picture). You are now on the FTP server in your web directory. There into your data are stored.
In the left window with the title Lokale Dateiansicht 1 you navigate in the left column on your harddisk to the data, which you want to publish on your homepage.
In the right column you will see now the data (possibly directories and files), which are to be stored on the homepage. Mark these files. Click with the left mouse button on the marked data and keep pressed the mouse button. Drag over the data with the mouse into the right column of the right window and let off there the left mouse button (see picture). The procedure is called drag & drop. The desired data are loaded now on your homepage and are then available online.
